In Prayer: a 17-minute Christian meditation

Our latest EP, In Prayer, is intended as a continuous 17-minute prayer ‘journey’ – the music ebbing and flowing, inviting a stillness and reflective atmosphere through use of ambient textures, subtle vocal choruses, and thoughtful lyrical messages.

For the In Prayer film, we teamed up with Salt Of The Sound listeners around the world who contributed beautiful still videos depicting places of personal prayer and reflection, as well as reading short segments of scripture to guide the flow of the overall project.

It is our hope and prayer that the EP and this film can accompany and encourage moments of prayerful reflection for you.

Peace & love,
Anita & Ben

A full list of the readings used in the video:

+ Psalm 62: 5-8 (NIV)
Yes, my soul, find rest in God;
my hope comes from him.
Truly he is my rock and my salvation;
he is my fortress, I shall not be shaken.
My salvation and my honour depend on God;
he is my mighty rock, my refuge.
Trust in him at all times, you people;
pour out your hearts to him,
for God is our refuge.

+ Psalm 33: 20-22 (NASB)
Our soul waits for the Lord;
he is our help and our shield.
For our heart is glad in him,
because we trust in his holy name.
Let your steadfast love, O Lord, be upon us,
even as we hope in you.

+ Agnus Dei
Lamb of God, who takes away the sins of the world, have mercy upon us. Grant us peace.

+ Psalm 4: 1 (NKJV)
Hear me when I call, O God of my righteousness!
You have relieved me in my distress;
Have mercy on me, and hear my prayer.

+ Psalm 139: selection (NLT)
If I go up to heaven, you are there;
if I go down to the grave, you are there.
If I ride the wings of the morning,
if I dwell by the farthest oceans,
even there your hand will guide me,
and your strength will support me.
Search me, O God, and know my heart;
test me and know my anxious thoughts.
Point out anything in me that offends you,
and lead me along the path of everlasting life.

+ Colossians 3: 15 & 17 (NIV)
And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.

+ Isaiah 40: 28-31 (NIV)
Do you not know?
Have you not heard?
The Lord is the everlasting God,
the Creator of the ends of the earth.
He will not grow tired or weary,
and his understanding no one can fathom.
He gives strength to the weary
and increases the power of the weak.
Even youths grow tired and weary,
and young men stumble and fall;
but those who hope in the Lord
will renew their strength.
They will soar on wings like eagles;
they will run and not grow weary,
they will walk and not be faint.

+ John 16: 33 (NIV)
‘I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.’
